FAQ
Why no plastic? My favorite running shirt is polyester.
So is almost everyone's — that's the problem. Polyester, nylon, and spandex are plastic. Every wash sheds microplastic fibers into waterways, including the mountain watersheds we run through. Around 60% of all clothing is synthetic, and "recycled" polyester actually sheds more, not less. We're not judging your race kit — ours has plastic in it too, for now. We're just refusing to add more where it isn't needed.
Is bamboo actually natural? I've heard it's greenwashing.
Fair question — most brands hope you don't ask it. Bamboo fabric is technically viscose: a natural plant processed with chemicals into a fiber. The plant is genuinely sustainable (fast-growing, no irrigation, no pesticides); the processing is the debate. That's exactly why our bamboo line isn't out yet — we're vetting mills and certifications (OEKO-TEX, FSC) instead of slapping a panda on a label. When we sell it, we'll label it what the law and honesty require: viscose from bamboo. And it will still contain zero plastic.
Can I race in this stuff?
Short answer: no, and we won't pretend otherwise. Cotton is wrong for race day — it holds water and chafes over long hours. This gear is for everything around the race: training days, recovery, travel, life. A zero-plastic race kit is our active R&D mission, and the honest timeline is "when it's actually good."
Why does shipping take longer than Amazon?
Everything is made to order — nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to become landfill. Production takes 2–5 business days before shipping. We think a few days of patience beats a pile of unsold inventory, and we'd rather be honest about the trade.
What if the fit is wrong?
Check the size chart on each product first (our garment-dyed blanks run relaxed — size down for a standard fit). If it's still wrong, our returns policy is linked in the footer and we're not going to make it weird.
When does the bamboo/merino performance line launch?
When it survives a real 50-miler on the founder's own skin without chafing. Swatches are being tested now. The Grind List gets every update, every failure, and first access.
